Eva Mae Corey Ozman, age 99, of Grand Rapids MI and originally from Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 3 at home surrounded by her family.

Eva was born in West Union, West Virginia on May 15, 1918 and is the daughter of Albert Corey and Louise Thomas. They moved shortly after her birth to Indianapolis where she grew up, raised a family and retired until she moved to Grand Rapids 12 years ago to be closer to family.

She attended Arsenal Technical High School and at age 16 married William Ozman, who preceded her in death. They had two children: Robert William Ozman, who preceded her in death, and Julie Karrip who is surviving. She has two granddaughters: Leslie Ayoub and Audrey (and Rev. Fr. James) King.  She has three great-grandchildren.

While in Indianapolis, Eva was a long-standing member of the Order of the Eastern Star and served as its president. She was one of two remaining founding members of St. George Orthodox Church and a long-time active member, who served as its Ladies Society president. Eva enjoyed cooking, gardening and spending time with her family.

Visitation will be on Thursday, March 8 at St. George Orthodox Church in Fishers from 4:00- 8:00 p.m. with the Trisagion Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m.  Funeral services will be held at St. George on Friday, March 9.
